This place is "out of this world"! The Kennedy Space Science Centre was a highlight of our time in Florida. Not only is it part of our world history but it is well done and extremely informative. We ALL got so much out of it. Chris and I had been there before so we knew it would not disappoint. The kids love anything about space. And, then my parents remember seeing the first moon landing on T.V.. So, they had actually lived through some of the events featured at the centre. It was a win-win for everyone.

The "rocket garden" is a fantastic spot in the middle of all the other exhibits. It showcases the various rockets used by NASA over the years. As you can see above, you can actually sit in parts of them and pretend you have just come back to Earth from an exciting mission to the moon! |
The newest exhibit is of Atlantis - WOW! We could have spent most of the day here. It was amazing to be up close to an actual space shuttle. Full of interesting exhibits, a movie about how the space shuttle came in to being, and the actual Atlantis hanging in the middle of it all, this was fabulous!

There was also a model of the space station which captured the kids imaginations immediately.
There are many other buildings with exhibits. We did take a bus tour, out to where the shuttles and rockets lift off. In one large building we saw an enormous exhibit of Apollo plus other interesting artifacts such as a moon buggy, and space suits and moon rocks.
If you ever find yourself in Florida, check out Kennedy Space Science Centre! It is well worth the trek out to the coast.
